Christ Prep Dominates OK City 40-7

OLATHE, KS – Christ Prep dominated their homeschool namesake from Oklahoma City by a score of 40-7 and Noah Blair scored in nearly every way you can. Blair threw for two TDs, rushed for 1, and intercepted a pass for another to lead CPA to victory.

OK City fought until the end and hit hard throughout the game but were doomed by their own mistakes and turnovers. CPA picked off six passes and Blair snagged three to go with one each from Josiah Gerard, Joseph Brock, and Ben Mosley.

Christ Prep committed several mistakes also, Blair was picked off twice and the punt return unit allowed two punts to deflect off the up men and be recovered by OKC. But the southern Patriots always seemed to return the favor with fumbles, penalties and bad snaps.

Fullback and team captain, Connor Hurley got the scoring started with a 48 touchdown reception with no defenders near him. Then after an OKC fumble Blair found Jonathan Layman in the end zone and Hurley’s 2 point conversion made the score 14-0.  Sway Jenkins and Blair both scored to make the score 28-0 just before the end of the first half.  With many in the crowd expecting OKC to kneel the ball and run out the clock, they called a pass play which resulted in Blair’s pick six to make the halftime margin 34-0.

Afterward, both teams admitted the toughness of the other.  Hurley said afterward, “I got embarrassed this game.  That guy trucked me!”
